Felicia

About Felicia

Felicia is a celebration fund platform for West Africans and the diaspora. Create a fund, share one link, and your people show up — from Lagos, London, Paris, anywhere.

Why Felicia exists

Collecting money for celebrations across WhatsApp groups is scattered and awkward. Contributions trickle in across five conversations. Someone forgets. Someone sends late. The emotional moment — your community coming together for you — gets lost in the logistics.

Felicia brings it together in one place. One link. One page. Every contribution visible, every message preserved. The celebrant sees exactly who showed up and what they said — and that feeling is the whole point.

What makes Felicia different

  1. Free forever

No platform fee — ever. Every kobo your people send goes directly to the fund owner. We make money other ways. Your celebration is not one of them.

  2. Built for the diaspora

Card payments from anywhere in the world. Your cousin in London, your friend in Paris, your auntie in Houston — they all show up on the same page as everyone in Lagos.

  3. Emotional, not transactional

Every contribution carries a message. The celebrant sees who showed up and what they said — not just an amount from an unknown account. That is the difference between a bank transfer and a celebration.

  4. Private by choice

You control what visitors see. Hide the goal, hide contribution amounts, or hide contributor names — whatever feels right for your celebration.

Who it's for

Celebrants — create your own fund for your birthday, graduation, wedding, naming ceremony, or any milestone worth gathering for.

Organisers — plan a surprise. Collect on behalf of a colleague, a friend, a pastor, a parent. One link to share across your groups.

Contributors — show up for someone you love in under two minutes, from anywhere in the world, without the awkwardness of a bank transfer.

The name

Felicia comes from the Latin felix — happy, fortunate, blessed. That is what every celebration should feel like: the people you love, gathered in one place, all showing up for you at once.

How it works

  1. Create your fund

Tell us what you're celebrating and how much you'd like to raise. It takes under two minutes.

  2. Share one link

Send it on WhatsApp, post it in your group chat — however you reach your people.

  3. Your people celebrate you

Friends and family send gifts or cash. The money goes to your bank account after the celebration.

Safety and trust

Payments are processed by Flutterwave — one of Africa's most trusted payment providers. All fund owners verify their bank account before any money moves. Felicia never holds funds on your behalf: every contribution goes directly to the celebrant's verified account. We handle the coordination — your people handle the celebrating.

What people say

I didn't expect so many people to show up. I shared the link in three WhatsApp groups and woke up the next morning to 31 contributions. Some people I hadn't heard from in years. Felicia reminded them I existed.

Adaeze O.

Celebrated her 30th birthday in Lagos

I organised a surprise fund for my sister. She had no idea. When she finally saw the page — the messages, the names, the amount — she cried. That moment was worth everything.

Emeka T.

Organised a fund for his sister

My church group has been doing birthday collections manually for years — somebody collects cash, somebody forgets, somebody sends late. We used Felicia for our pastor's birthday. ₦280,000 sent. No drama. Never going back.

Common questions

Is this safe?

Yes. Flutterwave processes every payment — the same provider behind thousands of Nigerian businesses. Felicia never stores your card details and never holds your money.

How long until the celebrant receives the money?

After the organiser requests a payout, transfers typically arrive within 1–3 business days via Flutterwave.

What if I contribute to the wrong fund?

Contributions are non-refundable once processed — verify the fund with the organiser before you contribute. If something went wrong, reach out to us at myfeliciaapp@gmail.com.

Does it cost anything to contribute?

Contributing is free. Creating a fund is free. Felicia charges no platform fee — your people keep 100% of what they send you. Flutterwave charges a small bank transfer fee (~₦10–27) when the organiser withdraws.

Who can create a fund?

Anyone in Nigeria with a verified bank account. Fund creation takes under two minutes.
